Aussiedoodles are a mix of the Australian Shepherd and the Poodle. They are a popular breed of dog because they are so versatile – good with kids, good with other animals, and intelligent enough to be trained in a wide variety of tasks. But what should you expect when your Aussiedoodle reaches full maturity? First and foremost, know that the size and weight of an Aussiedoodle will vary depending on the mix between the Australian Shepherd and Poodle parent breeds. Some Aussiedoodles may grow to be quite large, while others may stay relatively small. Generally speaking, though, you can expect your Aussiedoodle to reach a height of about 22-26 inches and weigh between 50-70 pounds. As your Aussiedoodle matures, you can also expect him or her to become more confident and self-reliant. They will likely start to exhibit the characteristics of their dominant breed – the Shepherd or Poodle – more strongly as they age. This means that an Aussiedoodle who takes after his Shepherd parent may be more protective of his family and home, while one who takes after his Poodle parent may be more inclined to bark or make other noise when confronted with a stranger or something unfamiliar.
